Accreditation is an assessment activity in accordance with criteria that have been set based on national standards of higher education, which include educational standards, research standards, and community service standards. Accreditation is given to colleges and study programs.
Accreditation is an external quality assurance system as part of the higher education quality assurance system, which aims to determine the feasibility of study programs and universities based on criteria referring to the National Higher Education Standards; and ensure the quality of study programs and universities externally in both academic and non-academic fields to protect the interests of students and the community.
Accreditation applied in universities is carried out by BAN-PT, while accreditation of study programs is carried out by the Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM). If LAM has not been formed, then accreditation is carried out by BAN-PT. The Accreditation rating for Study Programs and Higher Education is divided into three, namely Good, Very Good, and Superior.
