The Faculty of Islamic Studies at UIR will continue to improve its performance and competence in order to provide the best service to the entire academic community and contribute to the advancement of the nation and state.
Before changing its name to the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) UIR Pekanbaru, this faculty was formerly known as the Faculty of Ushuluddin. It is the oldest and only religious faculty among the nine faculties and postgraduate programs at UIR Pekanbaru.

The Faculty of Islamic Studies has a study program that is the only one to achieve Excellent Accreditation in the Kopertais XII region, which covers the provinces of Riau and Riau Islands. Additionally, the Faculty of Islamic Studies is the only faculty that conducts fieldwork both domestically and internationally. It is also the only faculty participating in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program from the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Early Childhood Islamic Education program.
